I upgraded my iPhone 3G operating system to 3.0 on June 18, 2009. I was able to use the Apple version for about 24 hours until the jailbreak was released. Before jailbreaking the device I was able to unlock the Apple tethering software and MMS. I also checked out almost all of the upgrades to the operating system. Shake to undo is probably the most useful for me. Shake to shuffle is also relatively useful, and naturally cut, copy, and paste holds some water. The main feature that 3.0 has to offer is speed. It seems to be the most overlooked upgrade to 3.0 yet it’s the most powerful. The jailbreak of 3.0 seems to mirror the official 3.0 in speed where as previously I felt that the jailbreak of 2.2.1 was rather slow.
As I said before, Apple tethering software has been unlocked on my phone. I do use tethering quite often so this feature is crucial to my computing and mobile experience. When compared to PDAnet, the Apple tethering software is far superior, and I’m sure nobody is surprised. The connection is extremely stable, consumes less power, and doesn’t cause the battery to randomly stop charging.
I was planning to purchase a 3G S, but have since reconsidered. The well known at&t slap across the face to existing customers is my primary reason. I’ve also watched a few videos on youtube of which displayed the camera’s performance. While I’m tickled by the ability to walk around and record video with the option to edit it and upload to youtube without having to return to my computer, the quality of video is a bit subpar. The main issue is motion. I’m not sure what Apple is claiming in terms of frames per second (FPS), but I’m confident that it’s not above 20. All that is left for me after a busted video recorder are voice commands, a faster processor, more RAM, and the utilization of the earth’s magnetic field. These are all great upgrades, but are not worth the price. Perhaps I’ll give in to Apple in the fall.
There was little surprise when the unemployment rate surpassed 9.0%, but there is one aspect that is not as obvious in this economy. Public libraries appear to be getting extremely crowded as they offer free internet, relatively silent work environment, comfortable seating, and the illusion of Out-Of-The-House Productivity which can be crucial to the unemployed person who is searching for a reason to get dressed and get out of bed.
Unfortunately there seems to be little communication amongst the community. Speculators say it is simply due to the fact that they all feel they are better than everyone else in the room, and cannot be bothered to talk to unemployed losers. While we cannot confirm this last bit of information, it appears that they are all jealous of the librarians and the supporting staff and spend at least half the day trying to figure out how to take a bite out of socialism and obtain a reasonable job that requires little to no results. They are all sure that they’re qualified to help old people navigate email. They also seem confident that they can direct young people towards the guide on how to help themselves find what they need rather than simply locate each book for each helpless person who claims to be literate.

I recall hearing that Bush was going to kill social security a few years back with his terrible evil agenda. I suppose if Bush was going to kill it then Obama has carried out his plan and has pulled the trigger and put the final nail in the coffin.
The reality of the situation: social security will run out in 2017 at this rate, and has trustee reserves to keep it going until 2040. All that crap you heard about Bush killing social security, garbage. I guess I’ll just sit back and watch as all the rubbish propaganda is exposed over the next few years.
I’m not exactly a Geithner fanboy, in fact I don’t really care for him. I picked up on a harsh tone and language from our lovely congresswoman, but lets put that aside and get down to the MEAT. This woman expresses her concern towards the linkage between Goldman Sachs and a few key individuals involved in TARP and other bailouts. She clearly has no evidence and is just spitting all over the place while not allowing Geithner to talk, how silly. She didn’t mention conducting an investigation or anything of the sort. She just seemed to put him on the stand and convict him of nothing more than a quack conspiracy theory. I’m just so surprised that the congress can waste so much time of people who are important and have real skills. This guy, whether I like it or not, has actual skills and proven credentials to get shit done. I don’t see why he should have to go slumming in congress and deal with the people who failed imagine a future with an absence of skills to be a bad thing.
As far as I’m concerned if she had any skills, evidence, or anything of substance to say then she probably wouldn’t be in the congress telling depressing stories of a life that could be true, and not of a reality that we see everyday.
I feel the need to just throw this out there for any of those who use the unstable argument, “the europeans have universal healthcare (insert any other government handouts you wish), and it works for them, why can’t we have that? we’re suppose to be the top nation” etc etc. We’ve all heard these arguments that fail to carry the point. I guess for those of you who agree with the “europe has/does this, so we should too,” I’ll ask you to watch the video and then remove your support for huge stimulus and overbearing unsustainable budgets since europe is frowning upon it and doesn’t do it either.
Oh wait, I forgot, we only take from europe the happy things that sound nice and reject the naughty things we don’t want to hear. How typical.
